This pencil self-portrait is viewed from below in black and white. The sharply defined strands of hair contrast with the blurred ones in the upper right corner. The interplay of light and shadow embodies self-examination between the gaze and the self being observed.

The work presents the texture of an apple through glass-like colors. The hand gripping the eyeball creates tension, while the asymmetry between the two eyes reveals a fractured vision. Light and shadow become symbols of rupture and instability.
Both works examine the dynamics of gaze, one turning inward through self- portrait the other directed outward toward the other, each using light and shadow to explore perception and fragmentation.
